President of the Fiscal Board
I became an owner in my own right in November 2015 but previous to that my Father and Mother, David and Gillian Boot, were the owners of DD530 from it being built in November 1989. I have spent many holidays at DD530 during the intervening years and cannot think of a better location to enjoy my later years. I spend approximately half my time split between Portugal and the UK.
I volunteered to become a board member of DDOA to ensure that our wonderful resort continues to be run effectively and efficiently. I do believe that the central facilities should remain in private ownership and a good relationship be maintained between all parties including our current managing agent, Alan Fegan Property Management.
Communication, and especially face to face interaction, is vital to maintain all relationships.
I am currently a Trustee Director of the Henry Boot Staff Pension and Life Assurance Scheme, I have been in the role for ten years now. I am also a Director of Hillfoot Management Company, which is a company similar to DDOA where I and one other Director run the affairs of an estate of apartments in the UK, I have been a Director here for eight years. My background and main working life was in marketing and corporate communications. I headed up the Henry Boot PLC corporate communications function.
I wish to make a positive contribution toward the good work in maintaining the resort for all owners; this will also ensure ‘we’ all benefit.
